Every startup has a beginning. Ours began with a simple question.

In 2017, three final-year engineering students looked beyond technology itself and towards the people who depended on it. While interacting with patients and caregivers, one challenge kept resurfacing: medicines only work when they are taken correctly, yet medication adherence remained a daily struggle—especially for older adults managing multiple prescriptions.

What started as a student project quickly became something much bigger.

Rather than building another gadget, the team set out to understand the problem from every angle. They spent years speaking with clinicians, patients, caregivers, researchers and healthcare professionals, learning that solving healthcare challenges required far more than engineering. It demanded empathy, persistence and an appreciation of how healthcare systems actually function.

In 2018, that shared vision led to the formation of Inovocare Healthsoft Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The journey that followed was anything but straightforward. Prototypes failed. Designs were rebuilt. Hardware was redesigned, firmware rewritten, cloud platforms re-engineered and business models refined. The founding team learned how to navigate clinical research, regulatory pathways, manufacturing, intellectual property, quality systems and commercialization—often simultaneously.

Every challenge strengthened a single belief: meaningful healthcare innovation requires patience and long-term commitment.
That philosophy shaped Inovocare into a company focused on developing indigenous medical technologies that solve real clinical problems rather than incremental conveniences.

The first outcome of that vision was MedpeR®, a patented smart medication management system designed to improve medication adherence. Built entirely through years of iterative development, MedpeR® progressed from concept to a commercially launched CDSCO-registered medical device, reaching paying customers in India while also receiving recognition internationally. Along the way it earned a granted Indian patent, multiple peer-reviewed publications, and recognition from
healthcare organizations and Innovation platforms including the NHS UK, Smart Dose (France), Parkinson's UK Tech Guide, the Atlas of TB Innovations and the Gates Foundation.

The team's second major innovation, NIBRA-CS®, addressed an entirely different challenge: making autonomic neurofunction testing more accessible. Combining Ewing's Battery with automated heart rate variability analysis in a point-of-care platform, NIBRA-CS® advanced through clinical validation, ethics committee approvals, patent protection and regulatory licensing. More than 500 patients have been tested, with clinical validation at AIIMS Kalyani and growing interest from healthcare providers and international collaborators.

Building these technologies required far more than product development. The team established hardware, embedded firmware, cloud infrastructure, clinician dashboards, regulatory documentation, clinical evidence generation and manufacturing capabilities under one organization. Along the way, Inovocare became a DPIIT-recognized startup and was supported by
leading innovation ecosystems including IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore and IKP Knowledge Park, while also participating in programs such as Stanford Seed Spark and the Ashoka–Boehringer Ingelheim Health Innovation Fellowship.

Government support through initiatives including the BIRAC BIG Grant, NIDHI PRAYAS and the AMRIT Grand Challenge JANCARE provided critical milestones, validating both the technologies and the team's vision during the company's formative years.

Looking back, the achievements tell only part of the story.

Behind every patent is a failed prototype. Behind every regulatory approval are years of documentation, testing and refinement. Behind every clinical study are countless hours spent working alongside clinicians, researchers and patients. What began as three engineering students with an idea evolved into a multidisciplinary team capable of taking medical technologies from
concept to real-world clinical use.

Yet the mission has remained remarkably consistent.

Inovocare was never founded simply to build devices. It was founded to improve lives through thoughtful, evidence-driven healthcare innovation. Every product, every study and every partnership is guided by the same belief that inspired the founders in 2017: technology should make healthcare more accessible, more effective and more human.

The name Inovocare reflects that philosophy. While every innovation may begin with an individual idea, meaningful impact is always the result of collaboration. Engineers, clinicians, researchers, manufacturing partners, mentors, patients, caregivers and healthcare institutions have all contributed to the company's journey.

The story of Inovocare is therefore not the story of a single solution.

It is the story of a team of dreamers that chose to solve difficult healthcare problems together— and continues to believe that its most meaningful contributions still lie ahead.
